Poacher In Odisha Dies In 'Accidental Firing' From Own Gun

Kandhamal: A youth was allegedly killed in an accidental firing from his own gun while he was out for hunting with four other persons in Siangbali forest of Kandhamal district on Saturday night.

The matter came to the fore after the dead body of the youth identified as Krishna Nayak reached his home at B. Dakebadi village under Daringbadi Police limits on Sunday evening. The body of the victim was brought to village by the other poachers who were accompanying him.

After receiving a complaint from Nayak's family members, police rushed to the village today and detained the other poachers for interrogation. Police also sent Nayak's body for post-mortem.

According to sources, police have launched an investigation to find out whether Nayak's death was an accident or there was any foul play.
