Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has hopes to elicit many vital information about a series of ATM loots across the state from the two key accused in the PNB ATM loot case whose custody has been obtained from the Vizag police.

Samarjyot Singh who hails from Punjab and Zafar Sadiq a native of Kerala had been arrested last month in connection with the sensational Rs. 27 lakh cash loot from the Punjab National Bank’s ATM under the Infocity police station in Vizag in October.

The Commissionerate Police has obtained three day remand of the two accused following their repatriation from Vizag to Bhubaneswar on a transit remand.

The two-member gang mostly used to out of Bangalore and targeted ATM kiosks in different parts of the country.

The duo had reached Bhubaneswar from Kolkata on October 5 and stayed in a city-based hotel. The criminals then hired a motorcycle and gas cylinder from a trader in Mancheswar before striking at the PNB ATM kiosk under Infocity area on October 10.

The criminals led a luxurious life and changed their location constantly in order to dodge surveillance of investigating agencies.

After looting cash from the ATM in Bhubaneswar, they went to Delhi, Chandigarh, Bangalore before getting holed up in Vizag. Their questioning has revealed that they had also looted around Rs 9 lakh from an ATM counter in Vizag during their stay
