Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the City Gas Distribution (CGD) program in seven geographical areas covering 17 districts of Odisha on November 22 through video conferencing from Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. Apart from that, PM Modi will also inaugurate 116 CNG stations.

The announcement regarding the inauguration came during a press conference organised by Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL), Adani and Bharat Resource in Bhubaneswar today.

According to sources, 17 districts across the State have been divided into seven geographical areas where 3.7 lakh families will be benefitted from the Rs 3,400 crore-CGD project.

While the project is expected to be completed in 8 years, out of the seven areas, GAIL will undertake work in two of them, Adani in one and Bharat Resource in the rest.

"The CGD project in seven geographical areas will cover 17 districts. Nearly 4 lakh household will be benefitted from the gas supply," General Manager of Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Pritish Bharat, said.

While the CGD project was launched in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack last year, till now 3,000 households have received gas pipelines in the capital city.
