Bhubaneswar: A civil supplies officer and a village level worker (VLW) on Monday faced the wrath of public over alleged ration card irregularities in Jajpur district.

As per reports, both the officials were detained by the locals of Rampei village when the duo had gone to carry out a probe into the alleged irregularities today.

Earlier on Sunday, the BJP had accused Dharmasala BDO of deleting the names of several eligible beneficiaries from the PDS list.

BJP's Lekashree Samanatsinghar had alleged that names of several beneficiaries were struck off the PDS list. In a tweet, the saffron party leader also stated that many poor families have been declared ineligible by showing that they own a pucca house.

“Dharmasala BDO has struck off the names of Swarnalata and Ramadei from PDS fr having concrete houses (see their real houses in pic) & even given false affidavit in Hon’ble High Court. We demand enquiry & dismissal from service fr false reporting to Court & malafide intent @Naveen_Odisha,” tweeted Samantsinghar.

No comments could be obtained from the concerned officials.
