Patients In Odisha Hospital Complain Of Sub-Standard Food

Balasore: Public outrage surfaced at the Department of O&G & sick newborn care unit (SNCU) of Fakir Mohan Medical College and Hospital in Balasore after the hospital authorities allegedly served sub-standard meals to patients.

As per reports, the patients admitted in the Obstetrics & Gynaecology (O&G) department were served only rice and dal in their evening meal causing dissatisfaction among many attendants.

The attendants of the patients also alleged that the quantity of the meal was meagre and not appropriate for pregnant women admitted to hospital.

Babita Jena, attendant of a patient complained, “We’ll not eat this kind of food unless the quality is improved.”

Another attendant, Manulata Rout said, “Only a woman can understand the pain of a delivery patient. They should stop serving this rubbish if they can’t provide better food.”

Reaction from the hospital authorities couldn’t be obtained.
