Bhubaneswar: BJP leader Roopa Ganguly reached Odisha on a two-day visit to participate in the party's ongoing 'Jan Jagran Abhiyan' in Nabarangpur to create awareness on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

Speaking about the CAA, the BJP leader slammed opposition parties for misleading people. " CAA was passed as per the guidelines of the constitution, but some political parties are misleading people," said Ganguly after arriving in Bhubaneswar.

"After independence many people were living in the country without citizenship. I understand this feeling because my father had come from Bangladesh. CAA was long pending, who are these people who are against it?" she added.

‘Jan Jagran Abhiyan’ is BJP's nationwide campaign to mobilise support & create awareness on CAA which is being organised in different parts of the country.

The actor-turned-politican is scheduled to meet refugees from erstwhile East Pakistan settled in Nabarangpur and Malkangiri districts during her visit.
