Bhubanewswar: A verbal war has erupted between Odisha Tourism and Culture Minister Ashok Panda and Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi with the former posing four questions before the parliamentarian over draft notification on heritage bylaws.

Panda asked, “1. Why didn't Sarangi raise the bylaws issue in the Parliament?

2. Even as the delegations from BJP and BJD had met the Union Culture Minister demanding withdrawal of the draft on contentious bylaws, the MP was not a part of any of the delegations. Why?

3. Why didn't she meet the Union Parliamentary Affairs minister despite his call for a meeting?

4. If the Regional Director of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Kolkata, is the competent authority for heritage bylaws for Centrally protected monuments in Odisha, then why she is blaming the State Culture Department alleging negligence?”

Reacting to the Minister, the parliamentarian said that she is yet to get the answers on questions she had raised before State government on February 15.

"Once I got the answers of all the questions I had asked the State, I would respond to not only one but all the ministers of the Odisha government," Sarangi stated in writing.
