Bhubaneswar: As many as 3885 patients were cured of COVID-19 in Odisha on Saturday, taking the total number of recoveries to 224273.

The maximum number of 1143 patients recovered from Khordha, 325 from Cuttack, 193 from Puri, 159 from Jharsuguda, 133 from Balasore, 129 from Mayurbhanj, 126 from Jajapur, 124 from Keonjhar, 122 from Kendrapara, 121 from Sundargarh, 112 from Kalahandi, 103 from Bolangir, 81 from Bargarh, 80 from Nuapada, 79 from Dhenkanal and 72 each from Jagatsinghpur and Sambalpur.

Similarly, 70 patients cured of the disease from Rayagada, 64 from Bhadrak, 59 from Kandhamal, 56 from Nabarangpur, 52 from Nayagarh, 50 from Sonepur, 48 from Koraput, 42 from Ganjam, 26 from Boudh, 26 from Malkangiri, 19 from Angul, 16 from Deogarh, 15 from Gajapati and 168 from State Pool.

The fresh recoveries have brought down the active cases of coronavirus in the State to 24,361.

Earlier in the day, 2854 new cases of COVID-19 were detected in Odisha, taking the virus tally in the State to 249693. The State also witnessed 15 more fatalities, pushing the death toll to 1006.
