Over 200 Quintals of Paddy Gutted In Fire In Odisha

Bolangir: Over 200 quintals of paddy worth lakhs of rupees reduced to ashes after a major fire broke out in a farmyard at Jogisarada village under Loisingha block of Bolangir district Saturday night.

Five farmers had reportedly stocked their paddy at the farmyard of Sadanand Pradhan of the village.

As per reports, the fire broke out in the paddy heap late last night. Locals spotted the blaze and informed fire brigade who rushed to the spot and doused the flames.

However, by the time the fire fighter brought the fire under control, it had already engulfed the entire paddy stacks.

Though the exact reason behind the fire mishap is yet to be ascertained, the concerned farmers alleged that some miscreants might have set the paddy stacks on fire.
