Over 100 taken ill after consuming food at marriage function

Rajgangpur: Over 100 persons were taken ill after consuming food at a marriage feast in Rathopada village in Rajgangpur of Sundergarh district on Saturday night.

As per reports, 44 women and 30 children were admitted to the hospital soon after they started complaining stomach ache and vomiting. All the invitees had consumed snacks and a sweet dish during the marriage, sources said.

“After consuming the sweet dish at the feast, people started vomiting and were shifted to the hospital,” said Gouri Lakada, a victim.

The condition of all the persons admitted to the hospital is now stable, said a doctor.

“A total of 36 people including 12 children are now undergoing treatment at the hospital. The condition of all patients is now stable,” said Jagdish Chandra Topo, superintendent, Rajgangpur hospital.
