Bhubaneswar: Ahead of his retirement, Chancellor of Universities and Governor Ganeshi Lal has sent vice-chancellor of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), Surendra Nath Pasupalak on leave. Such a decision has been taken to ensure transparency in the inquiry being conducted against Pasupalak, official sources said.

It is pertinent to mention here that Vigilance department is conducting a probe against Pasupalak regarding several irregularities at OUAT. Pasupalak is accused of misusing his position, manipulating records for personal benefits and irregularities in recruitment, sources said.

Agriculture department secretary, Saurabh Garg has been posted as vice-chancellor in-charge of OUAT till further orders.

When contacted, Pasupalak refused to comment on the issue.
