OTV IMPACT - Odisha DGP suspends havildar for seeking bribe

Bolangir: Greed can lead to disastrous consequences and often one has to pay a high price for it. Following a report by OTV about a video purportedly showing a havildar taking bribe from a truck driver in Bolangir, the concerned cop was suspended from duty immediately.

As per reports, the havildar Sankirtan Putel of Kantabanji Town Police Station was suspended as per the direction of the DGP BK Sharma.

It is pertinent to mention that a news report regarding the viral video was telecast on OTV following which DGP Sharma took action and said that implementation of Mo Sarkar initiative led to speedy action in the case.

Earlier today, Sharma visited Bargarh district and urged police officials to ensure that citizens visiting police stations are not heckled.
