While the local administrative officials handed over a cheque worth Rs 10,000 to the family, the district collector has ordered the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) to admit the child to SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack.

"After requests, we have received Rs 10,000 to take our baby to hospital in Cuttack," said Rupa Das, mother of the baby.

The residents of Hakimpara area in Angul district, Basudev Mishra and Rupa Das had welcomed their baby girl Vaishnavi two months ago and later they found out about her condition.
