  • Antarashtriya Yoga Diwas Media Samman is an effort to recognize efforts towards spreading awareness on Yoga by media houses.
  • Union Minister Prakash Javadekar presented the first International Yoga Day Media Awards.

New Delhi: Odisha Television Limited (OTV) was today conferred with the Antarashtriya Yoga Diwas Media Samman (AYDMS)-2019 in the category of Electronic Media -TV (Odia) for its valuable contribution in spreading the message of Yoga and commemoration of International Yoga Day. The award was received by DGM OTV Network Satyajit Roy from Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar, at National Media Centre in New Delhi.

Union Minister Javadekar and Union Minister of State for AYUSH (independent charge) & Defence, Govt of India Shripad Y Naik also felicitated the Jury Members of the International Yoga Day Media Samman. The six-member jury headed by Justice CK Prasad, Chairman, PCI, went through 132 entries in various languages to select the awardees.

This award is a unique endeavour to recognize efforts of media organisations towards the larger good of society, said Javadekar during the ceremony.

The concept of Antarashtriya Yoga Diwas Media Samman was introduced first in 2019 to promote, encourage and spread awareness regarding the practice of Yoga, that combines physical, mental and spiritual pursuits to achieve harmony of the body and mind. It will also recognise the efforts of the Print, Radio and Television towards the propagation of Yoga and further motivate and encourage media to spread the importance of Yoga to miles.
