Village chief found dead with throat slit

Malkangiri: The chief of Singanaguda village under Padia police limits was found dead with his throat slit on Saturday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Penta Madkami.

According to sources, three persons called Penta from his house late on Friday night and took him with them. Penta never returned home.

Some villagers found his body with his throat slit this morning and informed the police, the sources added.

On being informed about the incident, Padia police rushed to the spot and started investigation into the matter.

Though the exact reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, past enmity is suspected as the reason behind the crime.

Meanwhile, police have detained two persons on suspicion of their alleged involvement in the murder.
