Balasore: After dodging the police for four days, TV actress Pralipta Priyadarshini Samal alias Jessy finally appeared before Soro police on Friday hours after the district police served her a notice to appear before it and cooperate in the investigation into the death of TV serial actor Ranjit Pattnayak alias Raja.

The actress arrived at the Soro police station with her family members in the afternoon, sources said.

Jessy was summoned after investigations revealed that she accompanied Raja to an event in Bhadrak district on the fateful night and was present when the incident happened on their way back from the function.

Police sources said the notice was imminent after two teams formed to trace the actress reportedly failed to gather any information about her. Jessy was on the run since the death of Raja on Sunday night.

“A notice has been sent to Jessy at her residential address. We have asked her to cooperate in the investigation failing which legal action will be taken against her,” Balasore SP Niti Sekhar said.

Police sources said despite searches at the residence of Jessy and her maternal uncle, the teams failed to get any information about the actress.

Meanwhile, Balasore police has also decided to conduct a polygraph test on Raja’s driver Dhaneswar and event co-coordinator Pralay Jena.

The police conducted a recce yesterday at the spot where the dead body of Raja was found. A police team from Soro had taken Dhaneswar and Jena to Chaparapada Bridge on NH-5, where Raja was found dead, to understand how his death took place.

“We have decided to conduct a polygraph test on Dhaneswar and Jena as they were present during the whole episode,” the SP said adding the test will throw some light on the incident.

Investigating officials said they are not ruling out the possibility of a triangular love story leading Raja to his death. The actress was reportedly had an affair with her co-actor Tushar and Raja has been objecting to this.
