Bhubaneswar: The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) on Tuesday approved three investment proposals worth Rs 420.35 crore.

Presiding over the meeting at the State Secretariat here, chief secretary Aditya Parsad Padhi asked IPICOL and State Level Technical Committee to promote more employment intensive and downstream industries in the state.

Principal Secretary, Industry, Sanjeev Chopra presented the proposed projects and outlined the issues for discussion.

Briefing the media after the meeting, IPICOL General Manager Kalyan Mohanty said the meeting approved the proposal of Grid Construction Ltd to set up a 60000 IPA aluminium and aluminium conductor manufacturing unit with an investment of Rs 127.35 crore in the Almunium Park in Angul which would provide direct employment to 50 persons.

The proposal of SOM Distilleries & Breweries Odisha Pvt Ltd to set up 10 lakh hectolitres capacity brewing industry and 10.8 lakh hectolitres per annum capacity bottling plant near Khordha with a total investment of Rs 193 crore and another proposal of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) to set up a LPG bottling plant at Balangir with a total investment of Rs 100 crore were also approved in the meeting.

“These two plants are expected to create direct and indirect employment opportunities for 493 people,” he added.

Besides, the Authority along with the members of the State Project Monitoring Group (SPMG), also reviewed the progress of earlier approved investment proposals of Transmission Pvt Ltd., mining projects of the OMC, construction of 220 KV Transmission line from Laxmipur to Damanjodi by Nalco, Toshali Cement Pvt Ltd., Aditya Almunium, Bhushan Steel Ltd., Odisha Power Generation Corporation Ltd and Emami Cement Ltd.

Issues relating to land acquisition, forest diversion, construction of approach road, DGPS survey, power supply and use of water were discussed and resolved at the meeting.
