Cuttack: Vice Chairman of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Black Money Justice Arijit Pasayat on Wednesday hinted that the black money generated by the Dhalasamant brothers might come under the SIT purview.

“Don’t talk about any person. We are after and will be after anyone having black money. We will certainly investigate if we get information on the sources of the black money,” he told media persons here.

“If a person who has not disclosed his/her income to the government, the Income Tax department will investigate. If he/she has illegally earned the money and indulged in money laundering, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) will investigate. The police will investigate the crime a person has committed in earning the money in an illegal manner. Overall, investigations would be made on these three angles. For a successful investigation, there should be proper coordination among the Income Tax department, the ED and the Police. I have told this on a number of occasions earlier that if there is proper exchange and sharing of information among various agencies of the government, several facts and information will come out which will help us to get into the root of the black money,” Justice Pasayat pointed out.

Asked about whether the issue of Dhalasamant brothers should be taken up at the SIT meeting scheduled tomorrow, he said he can talk about it only after he gets the report from the I-T, ED and the police, and the information shared among them in this regard.

Justice Pasayat will preside over a meeting on the black money issue here tomorrow. The meeting will be attended by senior officials of the Income Tax, Mines, ED, Excise, Crime Branch and other government agencies.

The concerned officials will submit their report to Justice Pasayat who, in the earlier meeting, had sought information on black money.

Among the reports, detailed information and facts on black money of the much-talked-about godmen Sarathi Baba and Sura Baba would also be submitted at the meeting, sources said.
