Puri: The servitors and the temple administration will take a final decision on the entry of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the sanctum sanctorum of the Shri Jagannath temple for the darshan of the Trinity during his visit to the holy town on February 7.

Informing this to the media here on Saturday, Niti Prasasak of Shri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Pradip Das said the temple administration, in its first-round meeting, has discussed about the visit of the Prime Minister to the temple and steps to be taken for his smooth darshan of the Lords.

“A final decision would be taken at the second-round meeting between the Chhatisa Nijog at 5 PM and the Temple Managing Committee at 7 PM on February 1. Most probably, the temple administration would make provisions for the Prime Minister for the darshan of the Lords inside the sanctum sanctorum,” he added.

Talking about the schedule of the Prime Minister during his visit to Puri, additional district collector, Uddhab Charan Majhi said the Prime Minister, after arriving at the helipad on the outskirts of Puri at 10.40 AM, will proceed to Shri Jagannath temple at 10.55 AM for the darshan of the Lords. He will stay at the temple till 11.40 AM.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), in a telephonic message has informed Raghunath Gochhikar, the kaulika panda of Narendra Modi, has informed about the visit of the prime minister.

“I have received a call from the PMO about the visit of the Prime Minister. This will be the first visit of Modi after becoming the prime minister. Earlier, he had come to Puri for the darshan of the Lords at the Sri Gundicha temple during Rath Yatra when he was the chief minister of Gujarat,” said.

Expressing happiness over the visit of the Prime Minister, Raghunath said “I have arranged the anga bastra (costumes) and mahaprasad of the Lords which I will present him during his visit to the temple”.
