Rescued in critical condition, missing girl student dies

Bhadrak: Priyanka Priyadarshini Prusty, a Class IX girl student of Navodaya Vidyalaya who was rescued from the Hadagarh dam bed in Bhadrak earlier in the day, succumbed to her injuries at a hospital on Monday.

The deceased was missing from her school for the past two days and was rescued in a severely injured state near the dam today. She was rushed to the Bhadrak hospital. According to sources, she had sustained severe injuries on hear head, waist and legs.

Tensions erupted after the news of her death reached her village Bangore where villagers created a ruckus in front of the school where she studied.

Amidst uproar, Anandpur sub-collector and additional SP rushed to the spot to control the situation.
