Puri: An assistant engineer of the Public Works department (PWD) landed in Vigilance net today for amassing disproportionate assets. The accused has been identified as Sudhanshu Mohan Sahoo, an assistant engineer of the Puri Public Works department. A five-member team of Vigilance department raided the office and houses of Sahoo.

According to sources, raids were conducted at his government quarters, his residence at Sarvodaya Nagar, a flat owned by him at BJB Nagar and his ancestral house in Tankapani Road in Bhubaneswar.

The vigilance sleuths have detected Rs 10 lakh cash deposit in two of the bank accounts discovered during the raid. Moreover, 200 grams of gold was also found from his possession. As per sources, the worth of his Puri House has been pegged at Rs 15 lakh.

In another such incident, Vigilance sleuths also raided the houses of Jharsuguda Reserve Police force constable Jagadanand Patel. Vigilance officials conducted raids at five different places, including Patel’s in-laws’ house.
