Bhubaneswar: In a fitting tribute to her illustrious contribution to Odia literature, Pratibha Ray will be awarded the Sahitya Bharati Samman for the year 2016.

The award, which is one of the top literary honours in the State, is given by the Gangadhar Rath Foundation and carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and a plaque presenting a silver filigree replica of the Konark Sun temple. “Ray will receive the award at a function on March 13 at the Kala Vikash Kendra,” informed Jayant Rath, trustee of the Gangadhar Rath Foundation Trust.

Linguist Debi Prasanna Patnaik will be awarded the Gangadhar Rath Smaraki Samman, while poet Sangram Jena and writer Jasodhara Mishra will be conferred the Bhanuji Rao Smaraki Puraskar and Dr Binapani Mohanty Katha Sahitya Puraskar respectively
The Subrat Rath Smaraki Puraskar will be conferred on Gobind Chandra Chand and translator Chandan Das, added Rath.
