Cuttack: Hours after police exposed their involvement in the disappearance of Dipak Kumar Mallick alias Dipu and Omprakash Swain alias Omm, family members of Omm lodged a murder case against three persons, including the Dhalasamant brothers, at Chauliaganj police station in Cuttack on Tuesday evening.

The family members said Omm had gone to meet the gangster brothers on 12th November,2013 after receiving a phone call from his friend and never returned. Later, the family members received information about his death.

“They (gangsters’ group) called my son on Nov 12, 2013 and killed him. Initially, we did not lodge any police complaint out of fear. Today, we filed the case against the brothers’ duo and their aides," Mahadev Swain, father of Omm, said.

One of Omm's friends named Bapi from Ranihaat area of Cuttack had called him while his wife was serving food for him. “Bapi had told him over phone that Sushil and Shushant Bhai had called him for an urgent discussion. Immediately, he (Omm) left home to meet the brothers duo and told me he would have his food after returning,” Omm’s wife Mina Swain said.

“I waited him for a long time and called him back. But, his mobile was switched off,” Omm’s widow said demanding death sentence for the culprits.

Notably, Omm and Dipu, who were said to be the close associates of the criminal duo, had disappeared under mysterious circumstances two years ago.

The commissionearte police on Tuesday unravelled the fact behind the mystery at a press meet saying that both were murdered in the state and their bodies were disposed of outside.

Earlier, Adwait Mallick father of Dipu, had also demanded death penalty for the killers.

“I want justice. Those, who have killed my son, should be awarded capital punishment. Not only me, there are many victims of D-Brothers’ crime, but they are scared to open up before the police fearing fatal consequences,” Adwait said.
