Cuttack: The Commissionerate Police will pray for a seven-day remand of Dhalasamant brothers in the Cuttack SDJM court on Monday for interrogation in connection with Om murder case, sources said on Sunday.

The D-brothers, who are currently lodged at the Choudwar Circle Jail in Cuttack following the end of police remand twice, will be produced in the court so that the duo will be taken fresh remand.

The police will also seek permission of the court to handcuff the D-brothers, the sources added.

To expedite its probe regarding the twenty call detail records, which were seized from the residence of the D-brothers, the police will record voice samples of the criminal siblings.

Notably, during the earlier police remand, Sushil Dhalasamant and Sushant Dhalasamant confessed to beating Dipu and Om to death in Athgarh and burning their bodies in a bid to destroy evidence in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum area.

The accused D-brothers had taken Dipu and Om from their house to a farm house near Athgarh and beaten them to death. To destroy evidence, the D-brothers later took the bodies of Dipu and Om to the West Singhbhum area and burnt the bodies with petrol, said Twin City Police Commissioner YB Khurania on Friday.

Commenting on the motive behind the murder, Khurania revealed “Both Dipu and Om were accomplices of D-brothers and were sharp shooters. However, observing their disobedience, D-brothers hatched a plot to eliminate both of them.”

Meanwhile, the police conducted simultaneous raids at residences of Bhola Bhagat and Sola Sahu, the two aides of D-brothers, at Badambadi and Ranihat in Cuttack, respectively.

Sahu was detained by the Commissionerate Police following seizure of three guns and 11 live bullets from his residence at Dolisahi in Ranihat area. However, details about the raid undertaken on Bhagat’s house were not known till the filing of this report.
