Bhubaneswar: The State's capital expenditure touched Rs 11,567 crore during 2014-15 registering a growth of 49.14 per cent from the previous fiscal year, a senior government official said today.
Total capital expenditure in 2013-14 was Rs 7,756 crore, chief secretary G.C. Pati said during a meeting of secretaries.
Moreover, after this increase Odisha's capital expenditure and GSDP (gross state domestic product) has significantly increased the level record of 3.72 per cent, an official release said.
"The chief secretary has suggested the secretaries to ensure this ratio touch four to five per cent in the 2015-16 fiscal," it further said.
In addition to that state's plan expenditure during the financial year under review also increased to Rs 30,345 crore as against Rs 20,544 crore of FY2013-14.
The additional chief secretary, Finance, Balakrishnan has directed the large spending departments to ensure that 60 per cent of their current fiscal's non-plan, plan, state-plan and centrally sponsored plan schemes by the end of the third quarter.
The government has also asked the departments to identify more number of PPP (Public Private Partnership) schemes to bring in Rs 1,000 crore investment in various sectors during the current year.
