Bhubaneswar: Booking appointments with the doctors at the All India Institute of Medial Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhubaneswar can now be done from the comfort of home. AIIMS authorities have launched the service which will enable patients to fix an appointment with the doctors through the internet before coming to the hospitals. Patients can book their appointments at ors.gov.in.

“Through this online facility, patients will not have to wait in queues anymore. Moreover it will give patients an idea about the availability of a particular doctor,” said Dr. Ashok Mohapatra, Director of Bhubaneswar AIIMS.

Moreover, like their counterparts in Delhi, AIIMS authorities here have also decided to start Post Graduation (PG) across eight departments with two seats in each. From July 2016, PG courses will be started in Anatomy, Bio Chemistry, Psychology, Pathology, Micro Biology, Community Medicine and Pharmacology, among others.

“As per our new plans, we will be starting PG courses from July 2016. Moreover, we are hopeful that the number of our faculty members will also increase in the next one month,” said Mohapatra.

On the other hand, with appointments of 90 more doctors, treatment will soon start at 10 new departments, added sources.
