Cuttack: Arrested Dhalasamant brothers were sent to the Choudwar Circle Jail on Sunday after producing them at the residential court of Cuttack SDJM following the end of their remand.

As the Commissionerate Police did not pray for an extension of the remand of the D-brothers in the court, the criminal siblings were taken to the jail amid tight security.

Police sources said the D-brothers were tagged in the Farooq murder case and will be taken on remand again. The sources, however, did not disclose for how many days and when the D-brothers will be on remand.

Out of around 30 days in the police custody after the arrest of the D-brothers on January 29, the criminal siblings were in jail for six days whereas rest of the days they were in remand.

Total 11 cases including murder of Dipu and Omm have been registered against the D-brothers so far. Meanwhile, 14 people have been arrested for having connection with the D-brothers and more of their aides are likely to nabbed in coming days, said the police sources.

An aide of the D-brothers Debashis Kar was also sent to the jail after he was produced before the Cuttack SDJM.

Meanwhile, during a search at the D-brothers office at the CDA, located just 100 metres away from the residence of Cuttack SDJM, the cops found several incriminating documents including forged visa and three PAN cards.
In one of the PAN cards seized from the D-brothers’ office, name of one Sunil Patnaik is mentioned below the photograph of Sushil Dhalasamant. Regarding this, a case was registered at the Markat Nagar police station today.

Earlier, the police had seized a driving licence in the name of Sunil Patnaik with the photo of Sushil.

Source said in future remand of the D-brothers, the police will try to extract information how the criminal siblings got forged PAN cards and what kind of transaction has been done through these documents.
