Bhubaneswar: National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Bhubaneswar today organized its annual convocation ceremony where 56 students of various courses received graduate degrees.

Congratulating the students, director of the institution P.K. Gera said, “We all look forward for this day. All the sweat, blood and labour we have put together all these year will show result.” He praised the students for their achievement. Terming the batch ‘most productive one’ Gera said that 10 research papers submitted by the students have been published in various national and international journals and magazines.

Additional director of the institute L.M. Swain, Roshan Baid, Director of Paragon Apparel Pvt. Ltd and Atul Ujagar, country head of Nike Sourcing for India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan were also present on the occasion. The graduate booklet was also launched by the dignitaries.

Making the event a ‘stylish’ one the students clad in all shades of white received their degrees.

A designer collection, named ‘Tantu’ was also exhibited by the students of Textile Design. Desi styles to fusions, solid colours to monochromes, checks to digital prints can be seen in this fashion exhibition.

Sarees, salwar kameez, shirt, lehenga and all other types of dresses and bed linens, cushion covers were exhibited. The students showed the usage of prints in haute couture.
