Malkangiri: A group of armed Maoists set a bus on fire on Malkangiri-Chhattisgarh border on Friday morning.

According to reports, the Red Rebels, after intercepting a private bus at Gopalapatnam in Bijapur district, asked the passengers to get down of the vehicle.

After unboarding the passengers, they set the bus on fire.

Soon after the incident, the Maoists fled the area.

Till reports last came in, security personnel have rushed to the spot and started combing operation in the area to flush out the Maoists.

It may be mentioned that the left wing ultras have called for a bandh in the bordering district.
