Bhubaneswar: The two-day annual international radio fair named ‘Outreach International Radio Fair-2016- (OIRF)’ will kick off from February 13 here here at Bhanja Kala Mandap.

Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan, eminent news reader Upendra Pahadsingh and many other radio journalists are scheduled to attend the event.

Overseas broadcasters, All India Radio, private FMs, community radio and internet radio stations will participate in the event.

The objective of the event is to sensitize station owners, executives and broadcasters about a gender related policies and strategies for radio. The event also has aimed at developing skills of youths especially girls in the field of radio programme, a released issued by the organizers said.

To encourage broadcasters in promoting art and culture and eradication of social evils through various programmes is another most important objective, the released added.

Many Radio stations from across the country will join the fair. Classical dances like Bharatnatyam, Kathaka, Odishi, Sambalpuri, Bhangda, Manipuri, Bihu and folk and modern dances will dominate the two evenings. Besides, drama programmes will be played by the artists various radio channels.
