High-level meeting on power cuts today

Bhubaneswar: A high-level meeting under the chairmanship of Odisha Power Minister Pranab Prakash Das will be held today here to discuss about future power cuts in the State.

Besides, the meeting will talk about the period for which electricity will be generated from hydro power projects to meet the shortfall.

Earlier, the State government had decided to discontinue with the power cuts till November 15 keeping the festive occasion in view.

At present, the hydro power projects are generating additional 1400 mw daily apart from irrigating farm lands.

Meanwhile, Gridco has talked to the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) for purchasing of power from private power producers.
