Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janta Dal (BJD) on Sunday finally admitted Hema Gamang, wife of former chief minister Giridhar Gamang, to the party after keeping her waiting for over 24 hours.

BJD supremo and chief minister Naveen Patnaik made an announcement regarding Hema's joining the party at his residence today evening.

However, he did not mention anything about plans to give a ticket to Hema.

"Keeping people's wishes in mind, I decided to contest in Assembly polls," said Hema after the Naveen's announcement.

When asked about the Assembly seat from where she would contest, Hema retorted, "It's up to the party to decide."
