Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janta Dal (BJD) will hold its organizational poll for election of State President on March 1. This was announced in a notification issued by the party on Thursday.

The party’s poll at the block and urban branches will be organised on January 21 while district-level organisational election will be on January 31.

The State Council meeting of BJD will announce the result of the organizational poll, the notification added.

The party’s Returning Officer Pratap Deb said, “The organizational poll will be held in five phases. Primary election will be at panchayats and wards to elect committee members and president. Similarly, in the second phase, president will be elected at block and urban areas.”

Deb further stated in the third phase district president will be chosen whereas in the fourth phase the state executive will be elected.

In the final and fifth phase, the party will elect its State Executive and President.

Deb added, “We will try to finish the organizational poll process in two months.”
