Bhubaneswar: With the annual Plus Two theory examinations scheduled to begin from March 2, the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) on Monday began a week-long training programme for about 8000 teachers who have been shortlisted for e-evaluation of papers.
The Council has decided to e-evaluate all papers of Science and Commerce this year, CHSE Chairman Prof Basudev Chhatoi informed.
“Last year, we had e-evaluated Science papers. This year, we have decided to include all Commerce papers too. Nearly eight lakh papers of about 1,30,000 Science and Commerce students would be e-evaluated,” Chhatoi said.
Referring to the training of teachers for e-evaluation, he said about 8, 000 senior and experienced teachers would undergo training in different districts by the representatives of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for which the Council has prepared a district-wise list of teachers selected for training.
“Basically, the teachers would be trained on the use of computer, addition of marks, bringing out the final mark list and tabulation. Any doubts on the e-evaluation process in the minds of the teachers will be cleared during the training programme. We have asked the teachers to report at their respective training venue on time,” Chhatoi informed.
In the meanwhile, the Council received the annual Plus Two question papers at its headquarters here yesterday.
The question papers have been kept inside the strong rooms amid tight police security. To ensure 24-hour surveillance, CCTV cameras have been installed in and around the strong rooms.
The question papers would be dispatched to the examination hubs between February 24 and 27 to ensure that the in-charge of the hubs would receive the question papers between February 24 and 28.
