Bhubaneswar: With an aim to unravel the mystery shrouding the death of television actor and choreographer Ranjit Patnaik alias Raja, police on Thursday took event coordinator Pralay and driver Dhaneswar, to Soro police station for interrogation.

According to reports, a police team from Soro in Balasore district today took Dhaneswar and Pralay to Chaparapada Bridge on NH-5, where Raja was found dead, to understand how his death took place.

“We have brought event coordinator Pralay Jena and driver Dhaneswar Jena to police station for interrogation on the basis of a case registered with us,” said Prafulla Chandra Badjena, SDPO of Balasore.

On Wednesday night, three teams of police conducted raids at different places in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar but failed to trace actress Pralipta Priyadarshi Samal alias Jessy, who had accompanied Raja on the fateful night.

Notably, the family members of Raja, smelling foul play in his death, lodged an FIR with Soro police on Wednesday seeking a thorough probe into the case.

Sources said Raja, along with event coordinator Pralay and actress Jessy, had gone to perform in an opera show at Basudevpur in Bhadrak district on Sunday night.

Though Jessy’s co-actor Tushar was originally supposed to attend the event, he could not join. The opera party officials expressed displeasure over it and blamed Raja.
