Bhubaneswar: While the commissionerate police is investigating into the criminal network of the Dhalasamant brothers, an exclusive OTV visual showing Sushil Dhalasamant sitting near a BJD leader at a function has brought to the fore the political links of these two brothers.

In the visual, Sushil is seen sitting on a chair next to Cuttack-Barabati BJD MLA Debasis Samantray in the presence of Madhusudan Sahu, deputy mayor of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC), BJD Cuttack District working president and some CMC corporators belonging to the ruling party at a meeting on BJD pada yatra in Cuttack recently.

“It is now amply clear that the BJD leaders have the direct link with the Dhalasamant brothers. Why the concerned MLA, under whose instructions the Dhalasamant brothers had participated in the BJD rally, has not been arrested? Why the BJD MLA, against whom a case has been registered in the Tirtol Police Station, has not been arrested? Now, stories are planted in the media that the chief minister has taken a strong exception to the modus operandi of some of his party leaders. I want to ask the chief minister as to what steps he has taken so far?” BJP spokesperson Sajan Sharma told media persons in a press briefing here today.

In his reaction, BJD spokesperson Samir Dash said the allegation of Sharma has to be proved.

“The police is now investigating into the criminal activities of the Dhalasamant brothers and has made some vital breakthrough. Whoever is found guilty will be punished in accordance with law,” he pointed out.

"What the BJP spokesperson wants to say that BJD MLA Debasis Samantaray had invited Sushil Dhalasamant and the BJP leaders had invited Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan to the function organized by the Dhalasamant brothers. If this is his statement, then what more can be said? The BJD MLA has already said he knew the Dhalasamant brothers while the BJP leaders and the Union minister say that they had not known the two brothers. Going by the statement of Sharma, it is now understood that he had known the Dhalasamant brothers," BJD spokesperson Pratap Deb told OTV.
