Vizag: A special team of Commissionerate police today seized a gun, 35 rounds of bullets and a computer from the rented house of Dhalasamant brothers here apart from some important information about Dipu Mallik, who the gangsters siblings have allegedly killed.
The team, during its search, got a photograph of Dipu Mallick, his driving license and some other documents related to Mallik.
Till the last report came in, the probe team’s search was on. More information is expected to come out after the operation is over.
After getting go-ahead from a local court, the investigating team launched a search operation in the coastal town of the neighboring State.
The police had been struggling hard to extract information from the gangster siblings - Sushant and Sushil Dhalsamant - about Dipu Mallick.
Both the criminal brothers had denied their involvement in the Dipu Mallick murder case during interrogation.
Already, the statements of Dipu’s father, Adwita Mallick, and some other key witnesses have been recorded.
The police said there was credible circumstantial evidence against the gangster brothers and efforts were on to collect more physical evidence to ensure a logical end to the case.
The victim's father, in his petition, had alleged that the arrested duo had killed his son after abducting him in November 2013.
The brothers were arrested from a rented house near Pokhariput area in Bhubaneswar on January 28. They are currently on police custody on a 7-day remand and are being questioned. Police claimed to have extracted some vital information about their crime syndicate.
