CB to quiz Sabyasachi Panda from today

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Crime Branch will start its interrogation of the arrested Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda from Thursday and the court’s directives will be followed during the quizzing, said CB IG Yogesh Bahadur.

During the interrogation family members or advocate of Panda will be present. However, they will be kept at a distance so that the conversation won’t be audible to them, added Bahadur.

Sources said the CB has taken Panda on remand regarding two cases in Nayagarh. Total 12 cases are pending with the state investigating agency against the Maoist leader.

If needed the CB would appeal in the SDJM, Nayagarh Court for extension of the remand of Panda, they added.

Yesterday evening, Panda was brought to the CB headquarters at Cuttack and kept in a special cell under three-tier security.
