Buddhia Singh wants coaching at school hostel

Bhubaneswar: Marathon runner Buddhia Singh today approached the Sports director Anant Kishore Jena to make arrangements for coaching at his school hostel.

The sprinting sensation apprised the director of the Sports that he is facing problem for practice at Kalinga Stadium as he is staying at judo hostel.

Singh was accompanied by his mother Sukanti and judo coach Gita Parida. He expected the government to do the needful. "The government is cooperating with me for my career. Whether I would stay at my hostel or stadium, it is under government's consideration. All are making efforts for the betterment of my career", the little runner said.

Judo coach Gita also observed the same problem what Buddhia claimed. "He is facing problem in communicating school as he is staying at judo hostel. He is going to appear matric exam next year. So, he can give equal priorities to sports and study if he stays at DAV school hostel", Parida said.

The Sports department has assured him of all helps sought, she added.

The sports director said a committee constituted for the child runner has taken views of Buddhia and his mother. The committee’s report will be forwarded to the Commissioner and after then necessary action will be taken", Jena said.
