Bhubaneswar/Kendrapara: The last rites of Odia BSF jawan Kishore Rout, who was killed in a plane crash in Delhi, was performed with full state honour at Deulatara village in Rajkanika of Kendrapara district on Thursday.

Among others, Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda and MLA Debendra Sharma were present during the last rites of Kishore Rout.

Balakrushna Rout, father of Kishore Rout, said, “I got the information about the death of my son from the TV. I immediately called him up only to find his mobile phone switched off. Though he has sacrificed his life for the country, as parents, we could not bear the loss.”

A sobbing Bharati Rout, mother of Kishore Rout, said, “Though I feel proud, I am saddened by my son’s death.”

The mortal remains of Kishore Rout arrived at the Bhubaneswar airport in a special BSF plane from where the body was taken to Deulatara village in a special vehicle last night.

Odisha Police paid rich tributes to Rout at the airport. Besides, Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda and BSF headquarters IG PS Sandhu also paid floral tributes to the BSF jawan.

Expressing his grief over death of Rout, Panda said, “I pray before Lord Jagannath for his soul to rest in peace.”

Notably, 10 persons, including Kishore Rout, were killed after a BSF chartered flight flying to Ranchi crashed soon after its takeoff near Dwaraka in New Delhi on Tuesday.
