Belpahar municipality peon in Vigilance net

Jharsuguda: Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday conducted simultaneous raids at three places, including the residence of Belpahar municipality peon Ashok Sahu for his alleged involvement in irregularities in procurement of LED lights.

According to sources, locals and political leaders had filed complaints in this regard with the Vigilance department and district collector.

Acting on the complaint, the collector had recommended a Vigilance probe into the scam, the sources added.

After getting the directive, the investigating agency grilled municipality chairman and councilors in this regard.
