Cuttack: Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday conducted simultaneous raids at the residence of Athagarh Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Sudhansu Mishra at Athagarh and 10 other places on charges of accumulation of properties disproportionate to his known sources of income.

According sources, a number of teams of the state investigating agency are conducting simultaneous raids at Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Sambalpur, Bhawanipatna, Koraput and Berhampur.

The sleuths have seized a whopping Rs 93 lakh in cash and some incriminating documents from his Cuttack residence, vigilance sources said.

Besides, vigilance officials have also located Mishra’s houses and flats in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.

“After secret verification of Mishra’s documents, we have conducted simultaneous raids at 10 places. We have seized Rs 93 lakh cash and gold ornaments weighing around 500 gram from his residence in Cuttack,” said RP Sharma, Vigilance director.

“The raids are on. His property details can be ascertained after the completion of the investigation,” Sharma added.
