Ambulance carrying dead body overturns, 5 killed

Vishakhapatnam: In a shocking incident, five persons including a 10-month old infant were killed and five others sustained critical injuries after an ambulance van fell off a culvert near Yalamanchali, nearly 60 km from here, on Sunday.

The deceased are the residents of Aruhabruti village under Bhogarai block in Balasore district.
The incident occurred when the van carrying a dead body was heading from Hyderbad to Balasore. Total 11 passengers including the infant were travelling in the van.

The vehicle lost control and skidded off the culvert before hitting a tree. Two women passengers died on the spot while the infant and another one succumbed to injuries at hospital.

Meanwhile, the critically injured have been admitted to King George hospital in Vishakhapatnam.
