Khurda: Five persons attempting to loot on the National Highway-16 near Dahanigadia bridge under Jankia police limits were arrested on Saturday.

A car, country-made pistol, knife, blade, other weapons and chilly powder packet were seized from the arrested persons.
The accused were identified as Sanjay Sethi, Pabitra Dalabehera of Ganjam district, Seikh Aftabuddin of Jajpur district, Naba Kumar Sahoo of Begunia and Rabindra Tripathy of Balangir district. They were staying in a rented room in a slum in Bhubaneswar together and scheming about their plans, said Dilip Kumar Das, Khurda SP.

The arrested persons were forwarded to a court, he added.
