Cuttack/ Baripada: In a shocking incident, 20 students of Baripada-based St. Francis Xavier High School were failed to appear in the annual CBSE class X examination, which began on Wednesday, due to the valid attitude of the school authorities.

According to sources, the principal of the school brought the students to the Central School at CDA area in Cuttack to appear in the examination. However, the students were not allowed to sit in the examination as their names were not registered, sources said.

Following the incident, the irate parents of the candidates took the principal to the Chauliaganj police station. But the police advised the parents to file a complaint in this regard ar Baripada as the irregularities took place there.

Binodini Pradhan, a parent, said, “I admitted my son in the school when he was in class VIII. When I asked the principal of the school to give the admit card of my son to sit in the examination he said he will give it in Cuttack.”

“He failed to provide the admit card today at examination centre and the students were not allowed to appear in the examination.” Pradhan added.

When contacted, Sanjay Sen, principal of the school, said, “The person who was responsible for the registration has duped us. I will write the board to allow the students to sit in the examination.”
