Bhubaneswar: Deogarh District Education Officer (DEO) on Sunday suspended three teachers including the superintendent of the centre at Deogarh Government Girls’ High School on charges of negligence in duty during Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2021 examination.

The exam centre superintendent identified as Biswanath Kishan and the teachers Sushant Roy and Ranjita Mishra have been suspended from service by the DEO in connection with the recently alleged OTET question paper leak incident.

Earlier on Friday, it was alleged that the ‘D’ set question paper of the first sitting exam, conducted by the Board Of Secondary Education (BSE), was leaked from the centre. The question paper was allegedly received on mobile phones much before the completion of the first sitting exam creating a flutter.

A female candidate was booked on charges of taking photographs of the question paper. The mobile phone of the candidate was seized for analysis and necessary action.

However, the Board of Secondary Education refused the reports on leakage of the OTET question paper.

Around 1,25,880 candidates appeared for the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2021 conducted by the Board Of Secondary Education (BSE) at 491 exam centres across the State on April 9 amid strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols.
