OSL protest: Administration clamps section 144

Paradip: The local administration on Wednesday clamped section 144 at the protest area in front of Orissa Stevedores Limited (OSL) after two meetings between the company management and the agitating employees failed.

However, the protestors have said that they will continue their protest till the 15 employees, who have been sacked by OSL, are reinstated.

"The protest is due the highhandedness of the management. We will continue our protest till all the 15 sacked employees are not brought back," said president of workers and staff united forum, Abhay Sahoo.

Prafulla Kumar Panda, vice-president of OSL, however said no one has been sacked.

"Suspension-pending enquiry has been initiated against 15 employees of OSL and taking such disciplinary action is the legal right of the management," said Panda.
