Cuttack: In a major development, the Orissa High Court on Friday ordered filing of FIRs against three officials from the Mahila police station for allegedly turning down the complaint of a woman in a dowry harassment case.

The officials against whom the FIRs will be filed include, the inspector-in-charge, sub-inspector and an assistant sub-inspector of the Mahila police station.

According to sources, a woman  had approached the Mahila police station for lodging a dowry harassment complaint. However, the police officials had allegedly turned down her complaint. Instead they intimidated the victim, it was alleged.

The complainant had later approached the Lalbagh police station and eventually moved the Orissa High Court seeking justice.
