Bhubaneswar: Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has announced the Civil Services result 2018. Debasis Panda has topped the exam followed by Rituparna Mohapatra.
"On the basis of the Personality Test of Odisha Civil Services Examination, 2018 held from December 12, 2019 to December 28, 2019, the Commission has provisionally selected 218 candidates for appointment to the post/services coming under the Odisha Civil Services (Group A and Group B), said OPSC.
"I was confident of cracking that exam but hadn't expected that I would become the topper. I was preparing for the civil services exam while doing MSc in Raipur. YouTube helped me a lot during the preparation. Though I couldn't crack the exam in the first attempt, never broke down," said an elated Panda.
Hard work along with the blessings of family and friends is his key to success, added Panda who hails from Bonai in Sundergarh district.
Akash Kumar Panda, who secured the third position, said, "It's quite a different feeling when you taste the success after repetitive failures. Now, I feel as if my responsibility towards the society has been increased."
Of the 218 selected candidates, 72 female candidates are there; besides, six female candidates are there in the top 10 list.
