One Killed, Nine Injured In Separate Road Mishaps In Odisha

Nayagarh/Jharsuguda: At least one person was killed while nine others sustained injuries in two separate road mishaps in Jharsuguda and Nayagarh districts today.

A speeding truck reportedly hit a car near Mahima Chhak under Belpahar Police limits in Jharsuguda district killing the owner of the car. Another person in the car, who sustained critical injuries in the mishap, has been admitted to a nearby hospital, said reports.

In another such road mishap on Sunday, as many as eight passengers sustained injuries after the bus carrying them overturned near Panchupandav under Nuagaon police limits in Nayagarh district.

The bus 'Friends' en route to Phulbani from Bhubaneswar, met with the accident at around 8.20 AM, added reports.

Nuagaon Police along with the fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and shifted the injured passengers to Nayagarh hospital. The driver and the helper, who were trapped inside the bus, were rescued after two hours of operation by the fire services personnel.
